PCIe Slots:2 PCIe 3.0
GPU:Up to four 300W SMX2 or PCIe
Systems with NVLink configurations do not support the 2.5-inch SAS/SATA cabled hard drives.
Ideal for:
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Deep Learning (DL)
- High-Performance Computing (HPC)
- Virtual Desktop Interface (VDI)
The PowerEdge C4130 provides supercomputing agility and performance in an ultra-dense platform purpose-built for high performance computing (HPC) and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) workloads. Speed through complex research, simulation and visualization problems in medicine, finance, energy exploration and related fields without compromising on versatility or data center space.
The C4130 Rack server supports two different types of GPUs on a 2 socket Intel E5-2600v4 system. The systems with NVLink board configuration do not support the optional 2.5 inch hard drive cage. While the PCIe GPU system supports either options. Both the PSUs work simultaneously, and your system does not support the PSU redundancy feature.
-All GPU cards must be of the same type and model. Mixing GPUs is not supported.
-Incorrect removal and installation of the GPUs will cause operational issues to your system.
Get results faster with greater precision by combining up to two Intel Xeon E5-2600 v4 processors and up to four 300W dual-width PCIe accelerators in each C4130 server. Support for NVIDIA Tesla GPUs and Intel Xeon Phi coprocessors along with up to 1TB of DDR4 memory gives you ultimate control in matching your server architecture to your specific performance requirements.
Discover greater versatility
Enable extreme I/O flexibility for workload optimization with up to two PCIe 3.0 expansion slots and an optional 96-lane PCIe 3.0 switch that allows accelerators to be pooled across processors. Support for InfiniBand EDR and NVIDIA GPUDIRECT lets you tailor data throughput and reduce latency, while support for InfiniBand EDR protects your IT investment and reduces TCO.
Maximize operational efficiency
Optimize data center energy use with granular control of power and cooling using intuitive management tools that improve IT productivity and drastically reduce time spent on deployment and support tasks. Fault-tolerant cooling and redundant power supply options further increase server uptime and reduce costly interruptions for mission critical applications.
Purpose-built acceleration solution
The PowerEdge C4130 is an incredibly dense rack server designed to accelerate a range of demanding workloads including high-performance computing (HPC).
With up to four 300W double-width GPU accelerators or co-processors in just 1U of space — and with five unique configurations tailored to your needs — the C4130 delivers outstanding performance, flexibility and efficiency while reducing your space, cost and management requirements.
Meet your precise compute needs
Match your unique workload requirements with a balanced architecture offering a flexible combination of accelerator, processor, memory and I/O options.
- Scalable performance with the latest Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v4 product family (up to two processors), and up to 1TB of DDR4 memory
- I/O flexibility with two rear PCIe 3.0 slots and support for InfiniBand FDR
- Multiple configuration options including support for up to four GPUs or co-processors, even with a single CPU
There are a few rules for installing the memory correctly. To read them all please view the PDF Manuals below.
- x4 and x8 DRAM based memory modules can be mixed
- In a dual-processor configuration, the memory configuration for each processor should be identical.
- Mixing of more than two memory module capacities in a system is not supported.
- Mixing LRDIMMs and RDIMMs is not supported.

This is the main storage option in the C4130 Dell Rack server. This is the only option that is supported by both configurations. This drive cage sits above the embedded LOM.
This Drive Cage is very unique because it uses the same spot as the second PSU. When this cage is installed you are not able to install 2 PSU or have a redundant PSU configuration. This drive cage is also not supported on the SXM2 NVLink systems.
The Drive cage can support up to 4 cabled drives.
This C4130 system supports 1 butterfly riser that can hold two different Low-Profile Gen 3 risers. The risers have support for multiple types of adapter cards or Storage controllers.
Depending on what GPU configuration and processor count you have installed with change the PCIe link width. Please read the manual below for more detail information about each configuration possible.
SXM2 GPUs with NVLink. When this system is installed you are not able to install the 4 SFF Cabled Drives.
PCIe GPUs can be configured with the switch board or without.
The system can hold up to 2 PSU unless the 4x 2.5" Drive Cage is installed. At which point you are only able to install one PSU since the drive cage and the second PSU take up the same slot.
The Platinum 2000 W PSUs and 1600 W PSUs are rated only for 200 V AC to 240 V AC input.
- 2000 W AC
- 1600 W AC
- 1100 W AC (only for systems that support two GPUs)
